Brief Introduction:
High weir type ore spiral classifier: the top side of spiral blade is higher than the flooding level and the center of the blade is lower than the flooding level. This type is used for classification of ore with flooding size between 0.83-0.15.
Spiral classifiers are widely used in the distribution of ore in closed circuits with ball mills, grading ore and fine slit in gravity mills, grading granularity and flow of metal ore-dressing, and de-sliming and dehydrating in washing.
Working Principle and Features:
Spiral classifier is a kind of classifying machine that classifies
big and small mineral granules. It works according to the fact that
different granules (with various sizes and weight) sink at
different speeds in liquids. It can filter powders grinded from
mill and rotate the coarse materials to the feeding hole of the
mill and discharge filtered fine materials though the overflow
pipe.

Description
It is a kind of mechanical classifier with the mechanism of
elevating the sink sand, forming the closed circuit with the ore
mill. The classification is made by the different settling rate of
grains. Besides the preliminary and check classification as the
auxiliary equipment of ore grinding, the mechanical classifier can
be used for mine washing, desliming and dehydration of
clay-containing minerals. The mechanical classifier can be divided
into spiral classifier, rake classifier, and bowl classifier
according to the different mechanical mode of transporting the sink
sand. The spiral classifier has a simple structure and easy
operation, which is commonly used in China, and is a rectangle
chute in appearance, with 12°~18.5°angle of the bottom of slot and
shape of the semicircular. The spiral classifier can be divided
into the high weir classifier and immersed classifier according to
the height of grading liquid surface. The high weir classifier is
applicable for coarse-grained grading, size above 0.15mm, and the
immersed classifier is applicable for fine-grained classification,
size below 0.15mm. In addition, there is also a kind of low weir
spiral classifier, the grading level lower than the spiral bearing
on the bottom, with small liquid surface and large agitation,
mainly used for the ore washing of mud-containing sand.
Classification of classifier:
The classifier is widely used with a ball mill to make a
closed-circuit circulation to classify the mineral sands, or to
classify ore sand and fine silt in gravity mill. It is also applied
to classifying granularities in metal mineral separation, or
desliming and dewatering in ore washing. The classifier features
simple structure, reliable and easy operation.
The spiral classifier mainly includes the single spiral classifier
and double spiral classifier. According to the different depth
immersed by the spiral blade of overflow, it has the following two kinds:
1. High weir type: the top of spiral blade upper than overflow
surface and spiral center lower than overflow surface. Mainly used
for the grading of minerals of overflow size 0.83-0.15mm.
2. Immersed type: spiral blade completely immersed below overflow
surface. Mainly used for the grading of minerals of overflow size
0.15-0.07mm.
Explanation of model: like: “2FG-15”,in which, “2” indicates double
spiral, no indication by the single spiral; “F” indicates the
spiral classifier; “G” indicates high weir type, or “C” indicates
immersed type; “15” indicates spiral diameter, unit dm.
